2021 Commissioned artwork, George Stinney Jr. 1944

I didn’t know George’s story until earlier this year when a dear friend asked for a commissioned piece. Working on this piece frightened me; feeling unable to express the pain and loss, feeling unworthy of the honor to tell his story. On the other side of fear, I found the courage to be transformed.
