Art x Onongo

Bringing art to our community. Inspire our youth.

Onongo is a Namibian based organization with a mission to provide affordable and personalized tutoring. The program is tailored for all grades and various university modules. The classrooms are rooted in underserved communities, the personalized curriculum is built on developmental skills, and their practice is guided by their Christian values. All are welcome.

On June 11, 2022, Onongo is partnering with Meta Robinson, a Namibian-American artist, to expand its reach into the community through art. In a two-part event, we will be hosting a painting workshop with our students, followed by an exhibition of the students’ creations. Our goal is to introduce art in our program: promoting creativity as a form of self-expression and academic excellence.

The Painting Workshop

The event will begin with a day of creating art. Students will be welcomed into a space filled with art supplies and endless possibilities.

  • Up to 25 students enrolled

  • All art supplies will be provided (at no costs to students and parents)

  • Meals and snacks will be provided

The Exhibition.

The second part of this event will be an exhibition of the artwork created at the workshop. We will invite parents and the community to view and celebrate the work of the young artists.

  • This will be a free event to the community

  • Transportation for the young artists and their families will be provided (at no cost)

  • A silent auction will be held (selling the artwork)

  • All proceeds will go towards the Onongo art program
